The Lost Seal

This book was prepared in recognition of the International Polar
Year (2007-2009) by scientists of the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long
Term Ecological Research project, located at the Institute of Arctic
and Alpine Research, University of Colorado, and the Byrd Polar
Research Center, The Ohio State University. Support for the book
was provided by the Schoolyard Program of the Long-Term
Ecological Research Program of the National Science Foundation
(grant numbers OPP-9810219 and OPP-0423595).

The book includes text and illustrations contributed by students
in elementary classes in Australia, England, New Zealand, and the United States as part of their studies of the Antarctic, which included viewing the video of the seal taken at the time of this event.
